Dr. Naveen Maddineni Psychiatry Director of Maryland
Naveen Maddineni

Psychiatry Director of Maryland

Dr. Maddineni is a Psychiatry Director of Maryland for PGS. He is board-certified in psychiatry and is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He works in inpatient psychiatry at University of Maryland Capital Regional Prince George Hospital. He also teaches medical students and Family Practice residents. He practices geriatric psychiatry at various long-term care facilities. Dr. Maddineni attended medical school at Mysore University. He completed neuropsychiatry residency training at the Chicago Medical School and is trained in adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addictions and neurobehavioral developmental illness.

Dr. Cynthia Munshell profile picture
Cynthia D. Munshell, Ph.D

Executive Director of Psychotherapy Services

Dr. Munshell currently serves as the Executive Director of Psychotherapy for PGS, and delivers clinical expertise and consultation in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and sub-acute rehabilitation centers while also directing the clinical support team. She earned her doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her internship at the Durham VA Medical Center. Dr. Munshell has served on the faculties of Johns Hopkins Medical Center, University of Baltimore, and the University of Maryland University College where she was the Academic Director for Gerontology and Social Sciences. She continues to teach in the Psychology Department. Dr. Munshell has also worked in the addictions field and has extensive experience in working with children and families.

Umar Rahman, MD

Psychiatry Director for DC, Virginia, & Maryland

At PGS Dr. Rahman provides psychiatric services to our partnered facilities while also supervising clinicians in the region. He is board-certified in Psychiatry and completed his psychiatry residency training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. He then completed a fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry at University of Maryland, Baltimore. He served as the chief resident during his psychiatry training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and received the Pfizer resident of the year award during that time. In addition to providing psychiatric care in long-term care settings, he also has experience in acute inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, and community outpatient psychiatrist.

Andrew Speer, MD

Psychiatry Director of Maryland

Dr. Speer joined PGS in 2012, he is currently a Psychiatry Director for Maryland. Dr. Speer is board-certified in psychiatry and graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his psychiatric residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He then completed a Mood Disorder and Neuroimaging fellowship at MUSC before attending the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for a clinical research fellowship that focused on the treatment of patients with mood disorders. During this time, he served as the Unit Chief for the Biological Psychiatry Branch and was awarded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Award for Excellence in the Care and Management of Patients in Clinical Research.

Dr. Leonardo Vando
Leonardo Vando, MD

Consulting Psychiatrist for Western Maryland

Dr. Leonardo Vando is an experienced psychiatrist, renowned for his expertise in addiction psychiatry and his pioneering work with ketamine treatments. His journey in this specialized area began in New York, where he introduced ketamine therapy in his practice as a novel approach for patients grappling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders. This initiative marked a significant leap forward in addressing some of the most challenging mental health conditions.

Having led a substantial practice in New York for nearly two decades, Dr. Vando ventured into a new realm with a vision to democratize access to ketamine treatments.

Currently, Dr. Vando serves as the Medical Director of Optum in the State of Maryland, where he is responsible for managing and utilizing behavioral health and substance use disorder services, further solidifying his commitment to improving mental health services.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Vando is a devoted father to two young children, a lifelong athlete, and an avid lover of the outdoors, embodying a holistic approach to life that emphasizes the importance of physical well-being in enhancing mental health.

Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of PGS, Cliff leads the administrative team to build scalable processes that help our clinical team deliver quality care and dependable support to our partner facilities. Prior to PGS, he spent over a decade growing private companies. As an investor at DRW Venture Capital, Cliff completed 40+ private investments in companies from the startup phase through $100mn+ in revenue. He started his career as a consultant advising a wide range of healthcare, industrial, and energy clients on innovation and new business initiatives. Cliff earned his B.S., summa cum laude, from Tulane University, and his M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Christine, and their son, Calvin. Cliff is an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman.

Naeemah (Nima) Fuentes

Chief Financial Officer

Nima serves as the CFO of PGS. She is a CPA and has over 15 years of experience in healthcare finance. Although she is not a clinician, she feels that providing support to the clinicians is her way to raise mental health awareness. Nima received her Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and her Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Maryland, Global Campus. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and enjoys traveling.

Chris Baham

Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development

Chris is the VP of Talent Acquisition & Development, where he works to recruit, develop, and retain highly-qualified providers. Chris has been a licensed clinical social worker in the commonwealth of Virginia since 2002. He earned his Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary, and Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Analytics from Ohio University. When not at PGS, Chris can be found exploring the great outdoors with his wife and two dogs.

Vice President of Business Development

Elizabeth joined PGS in 2015 and has 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Before becoming VP of Business Development, Elizabeth worked as PGS’ practice administrator and senior credentialing specialist. Elizabeth is a graduate of Morgan State University and holds a degree in Business Administration. In addition to generating new contracts and sales leads to drive the practice’s growth, Elizabeth manages all our accounts to ensure that facility residents are receiving high quality mental health care.

Darrin Mitchell

Vice President of Provider Relations

Darrin Mitchell is currently the Vice President of Operations at PsychoGeriatric Services. He has over a decade of experience in healthcare management, with his previous roles including Associate Vice President at YesCare and Regional Director at Wellpath and MHM Services. His expertise lies in enhancing clinical quality, managing large-scale operations, and driving impactful change. As an Independent Healthcare Consultant, he has helped streamline decision-making processes and operational systems. Darrin holds a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University, which has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of mental health and patient care. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Darrin enjoys gardening and woodworking.

Account Manager Maryland

Ashley has over 15 years of experience in the mental health industry, including 5+ years at PGS. As Account manager for the Maryland region, she ensures seamless coordination and assistance for all providers. She has a crucial role in updating patient information, handling referrals, maintaining accurate clinical notes, and administering the workflow and EHR training to all new providers.

Kim Beam

Compliance Officer

Kimberly joined PsychoGeriatric Services in 2021 and is currently the Director of Compliance. In 2023 Kimberly spearheaded the formulation and implantation of the new documentation training for all PGS clinicians. Before joining PGS, Kimberly worked in orthopedics and private practice before spending two years in the compliance department of a large Connecticut based behavioral health group. Kimberly Beam earned her bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) at Eastern Connecticut State University and passed the CPC exam in 2017.
