Psychiatry Director of Pennsylvania
Dr. Sahar Awad is the Regional Director of the state of Pennsylvania for PGS. Dr. Awad oversees PGS providers throughout the state, coaching NPs and monitoring clinical protocols followed by the prescribers. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology to practice psychiatry in the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has been a practicing psychiatrist in community outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric crisis units, and private practice. Dr. Awad trained at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in New York State after graduating from Alexandria University School of Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, audiobooks, and taking strolls with her four-legged, furry, active, and adored children. Dr. Awad is working on rekindling her love for playing the piano while serving her community through volunteering at youth meetings at a local Coptic church.
Director of Psychotherapy Services, PA & DC
Dr. Kathryn Lou, the Director of Psychotherapy for Pennsylvania, supervises psychologists and social work therapists across the state in delivering quality assessment and treatment as well as serving as a PGS clinician since 2021. Dr. Lou obtained her B.S. from Northeastern University, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from American University in Washington, DC. She completed her APA-approved predoctoral clinical internship at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. She worked in the assessment and treatment of individuals with traumatic brain injuries and neurocognitive rehabilitation prior to joining PGS and was a clinical supervisor to graduate psychology students at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). She resides in the Philadelphia suburbs with her husband and two sons. She enjoys traveling, snowboarding and spending time with family.
Psychiatry Director of Maryland
Dr. Maddineni is a Psychiatry Director of Maryland for PGS. He is board-certified in psychiatry and is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He works in inpatient psychiatry at University of Maryland Capital Regional Prince George Hospital. He also teaches medical students and Family Practice residents. He practices geriatric psychiatry at various long-term care facilities. Dr. Maddineni attended medical school at Mysore University. He completed neuropsychiatry residency training at the Chicago Medical School and is trained in adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addictions and neurobehavioral developmental illness.
Director of Psychotherapy Services, MD & VA
Dr. Sharon Nuss has been with PGS for many years now as a clinician and a few as Director of Education and Training. She helps train nurse practitioners on performing add-on psychotherapy services, which started during the Covid pandemic, and provides other trainings for nurse practitioners and therapists at PGS. Dr. Nuss is native to the Metro DC area having been born in Washington, DC and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She earned a B.A. in Human and Community Services from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC and then her M.A. and Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Argosy University/American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, VA. She completed her APA-approved pre-doctoral internship at Broughton Hospital in Morganton, NC, including a rotation on the geriatric unit. Dr. Nuss has developed and facilitated trainings with various home care agencies prior to her work at PGS and taught at her undergraduate alma mater for one year. She enjoys cooking and baking, and loves to spend time with her extended family in the area.
Psychiatry Director for DC, Virginia, & Maryland
At PGS Dr. Rahman provides psychiatric services to our partnered facilities while also supervising clinicians in the region. He is board-certified in Psychiatry and completed his psychiatry residency training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. He then completed a fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry at University of Maryland, Baltimore. He served as the chief resident during his psychiatry training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and received the Pfizer resident of the year award during that time. In addition to providing psychiatric care in long-term care settings, he also has experience in acute inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, and community outpatient psychiatrist.
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of PGS, Cliff leads the administrative team to build scalable processes that help our clinical team deliver quality care and dependable support to our partner facilities. Prior to PGS, he spent over a decade growing private companies. As an investor at DRW Venture Capital, Cliff completed 40+ private investments in companies from the startup phase through $100mn+ in revenue. He started his career as a consultant advising a wide range of healthcare, industrial, and energy clients on innovation and new business initiatives. Cliff earned his B.S., summa cum laude, from Tulane University, and his M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Christine, and their son, Calvin. Cliff is an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman.
Vice President of Business Development
Elizabeth joined PGS in 2015 and has 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Before becoming VP of Business Development, Elizabeth worked as PGS’ practice administrator and senior credentialing specialist. Elizabeth is a graduate of Morgan State University and holds a degree in Business Administration. In addition to generating new contracts and sales leads to drive the practice’s growth, Elizabeth manages all our accounts to ensure that facility residents are receiving high quality mental health care.
Compliance Officer
Kimberly joined PsychoGeriatric Services in 2021 and is currently the Director of Compliance. In 2023 Kimberly spearheaded the formulation and implantation of the new documentation training for all PGS clinicians. Before joining PGS, Kimberly worked in orthopedics and private practice before spending two years in the compliance department of a large Connecticut based behavioral health group. Kimberly Beam earned her bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) at Eastern Connecticut State University and passed the CPC exam in 2017.
Account Manager Maryland
Ashley has over 15 years of experience in the mental health industry, including 5+ years at PGS. As Account manager for the Maryland region, she ensures seamless coordination and assistance for all providers. She has a crucial role in updating patient information, handling referrals, maintaining accurate clinical notes, and administering the workflow and EHR training to all new providers.
Talen Acquisition Manager
In her role as Talent Acquisition Manager, Evelyn leads the Talent Acquisition Team’s day-to-day operations and collaborates with our leadership team to develop targeted recruitment strategies, ensuring the placement of highly qualified and empathetic mental health professionals for PGS. Evelyn is motivated by a passion to improve access to quality health-care services for vulnerable populations and has over 7+ years of experience in recruiting top talent for niche industries such as LTC Pharmacy, Homecare Services, Health & Life Insurance, and Correctional Healthcare.
Evelyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Evelyn currently resides in Tampa, FL with her husband and their two beloved pups. Outside of work, you can find her cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, exploring local restaurants, and spending quality time with her family.
